Walkthrough
Welcome to Argus
A worktree-first cockpit for Claude Code and Codex. Set it up here, then learn it by using the real Argus panes around this editor.
Step 1 of 6
The cockpit stays live around you
Argus runs in its own VS Code window so worktrees, native agent tabs, Files, and terminals can remain useful across reloads. Your project window stays open separately.
Step 2 of 6
Check your agent providers
Argus drives the installed Claude Code and Codex extensions. At least one must be available now to finish setup.
Step 3 of 6
Add a project
Choose any Git repository. Argus registers the project and discovers its real linked worktrees through the existing project flow.
No projects are currently registered.
Step 4 of 6
Click a worktree on the left
Use the real Worktrees view. Selecting a row makes that exact worktree active and loads its changed Files in the view on the right.
Waiting for a successful worktree selection…
Step 5 of 6
Create a terminal from that worktree
On the active worktree, click New Terminal. Argus will create it at the exact worktree directory, show it below, and track it under the row.
Waiting for New Terminal to create, show, and track successfully…
Step 6 of 6
Start sessions from the worktree
Use New Session on the worktree row, then choose Claude or Codex. Argus opens the provider's native tab in the center and keeps the exact worktree ownership.
This tour will not create a provider session for you.
Setup complete
Argus is ready
Your live cockpit lessons are saved. Closing terminals or changing worktrees will not erase them, and Welcome remains available from the Command Palette.
